Si lo notan bien, el escrito "El fantasma de Canterville" no es más que una burla satírica a las costumbres norteamericanas. Recordando que en esas épocas se daba el auge económico propuesto por EE.UU.

Así, cuando los embajadores norteamericanos llegan a la casa del fantasma, se muestra cómo ellos ofrecen para todo "sus productos".

Además, prebalece la gran cultura y elegancia británica.
