Pacific Ocean Sunset : Jun 14, 2008
by C.A. Pruit

She calls, like an enchantress casting her spell,
daring me to watch without falling in love.
Caressing my soul with a cool, crisp breeze,
while her waves seduce into submission.

How relaxing it is to be here,
yielding to the gentle, rolling motion of her beauty.
How easy to just give in to desire,
as she teases, nibbling at my toes.

I could be content being forever present,
gazing upon her infinite elegance.
My days would be eternally satiated,
bewitched by her hypnotic charms.

Casting my eyes upon this lovely chameleon,
she appears as a medley for my amusement.
Descending upon the scope of my vision,
she spreads herself out upon the waters.

Slowly, playfully, slipping from view,
she lowers herself into the sea.
Exploding with a mixture of vivid tones,
as she reveals herself to me.

Shadows, faint images are all I see,
fading, sinking lower into the sky.
Soon, only a slight glimmer of light,
leaving me with only my memory of her.

And then, darkness, leaving me feeling cold and alone,
as if being spurned by a first love.
But my dreams will carry me forward,
and I will see her yet again, tomorrow!
